Sorting their catch, New Harbor, Maine

Hard drive deep dive. Infrared Photo captured during class at Maine Media Workshops. We were out at the Pemiqude lighthouse and everyone needed some dinner. We all enjoyed a stop at Shaw's Fish & Lobster Wharf Restaurant. Waiting for dinner we watched the lobstermen of New Harbor, Maine sorting their catch. This scene unfolded just as it does every day on the coastal waterways of Maine. Image captured on a #nikon #D800 converted by Life Pixel Infrared with their Full Spectrum IR Conversion. IR is lots of fun when it works and I am just learning the ins and outs but having fun finding gems in old hard drives.

Veterans Rest - IR

This Veterans Cemetary was photographed early morning before a visit to the veteran residents of the Cal Veterans home West LA. The Los Angeles National Cemetery is a United States National Cemetery in the Sawtelle unincorporated community of the West Los Angeles neighborhood in Los Angeles County, California. Fourteen Medal of Honor recipients are buried at the cemetery along with many other Heros.

Pemaquid Point Light House

The Pemaquid Point Light is a historic U.S. lighthouse located in Bristol, Lincoln County, Maine, at the tip of the Pemaquid Neck. I have photographed this lighthouse during our Black n white workshop many times and love this image here. Especially in large print.

Wind Point Lighthouse - Racine Wis.

Wind Point Lighthouse is a lighthouse located at the north end of Racine Harbor in the U.S. state of Wisconsin. It is in the village of Wind Point, Wisconsin, on Lighthouse Road, next to the Shoop Park golf course. The lighthouse stands 108 feet tall. One of the oldest and tallest active lighthouses on the Great Lakes, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984 - Wikipedia

Bobby Sock Pines

In Yellowstone National Park many of the lodgepole pine trees located near hydrothermal vents gain the look that they are wearing socks and are refused to as Bobby Sock pines. The dead trees soak up the mineral-laden water. When the water evaporates, the minerals are left behind, turning the lower portion of the trees white.

Morning at Rockport

Rockport is a town in Knox County, Maine, United States. It is thirty-five miles southeast of Augusta. The population was 3,330 at the 2010 census. Rockport is a popular tourist destination and art colony. Wikipedia Rockport is one of my favorite places to go because the Maine Media College is located there and I get to teach twice a year.

Fall color - Orange

Maine is my favorite place to shoot fall. I have been coming to Maine for the last ten years shooting Fall color with a friend's class at Maine Media Workshops.

Delicate Arch - Sunset in IR

Delicate Arch is a 52-foot-tall freestanding natural arch located in Arches National Park, near Moab in Grand County, Utah, United States. The walk to it from the access point is 3 miles round trip and challenging in the light and a bit crazy after sunset. The IR modified Camera picked up amazing detail in the clouds that really were barely there. This is when I fell in love with Infrared photography.
